outdoor idaho

Even though it was especially cold while we were home, we still did our best to get outside. It really is one of our favorite things about Idaho. We did lots of chores and saw lots of animals. We shoveled and played in a little bit of snow. Most nights we went on a deer drive. Rhone loved spotting the deer and then looking through the binoculars for a better view.

Rhone helped Brock feed the cows, which happens to involve a tractor and cows, 2 of Rhone's favorites. He really likes Brock too.

Rhone was very serious about driving the back hoe

This little guy really likes snow.

Sledding with Papa

Feeding the horses their oats.

We got in 1 hunting trip before Ben left town. Ace and I are taking a break from the steep climb of the chukar hunt.
Papa was nice enough to carry Rhone for us. Even though is was around 20 degrees Rhone never complained about being cold. One chukar got up, that neither Ben nor I shot at and Rhone was yelling. "shoot bird, shoot". He really pays attention to what's going on. My dad thought it was especially funny.

Saying hi to a brand new calf.

Checking on the cows with Papa.

That is a LOT of free range chickens!

Rhone helped sort the eggs and put them into the carton. I think we only ended up with 1 or 2 broken ones.

How fun!! When we went to visit Mark and Tami at Christmas time, we stayed at your parents house the night before we got there. Haylie and Connor had so much fun with your day... he really is something special. What a blessing for your kids to have a grandpa like him. Our kids now call him "The Brett." ;)

He has always been Buddy Brett in our family. The kids love him. Bet Rhone loved all the animals, and tractors, and even the BAA OH! He says that so cute. Miss you guys.

Wow! I am so jealous, looks like a lot of fun. You guys have quite an array of animals over there, it has been way too long since we were last in Malad! Rhone is so cute, I love that he yelled, SHOOT BIRD, SHOOT! I am sure it just tickled your Dad.
