Family time

I was home for a family reunion on my mom's side and on my dad's side this year.  I was also able to attend one of the cousin's baptism.  It is always so much fun to catch up with family and just enjoy some good food.  Unfortunately Rhone was mysteriously sick at one of the reunions so it was not much fun for me, but we made it through.  Rhone partied it up at the other reunion and loved running wild with all of his cousins.  We are truly blessed with amazing people in our lives

Rhone ate a little lunch, took some Tylenol and fell asleep in the camp chairs for the rest of the reunion.  Poor little guy.

I asked my Granny if she needed any help walking down the hall.  Rhone volunteered to help her.  It was pretty sweet.

The night before Brock graciously let Rhone spend the night at his house.  They got in the hot tub (Oli is gonna be a ladies man, look at him over there), got ice cream cones, and watched a movie.  Sounds like a pretty sweet time to me!

5 months

This sweet little lady turned 5 months old.  She is getting to be a pretty good sitter.  She is very aware of what's going on around her.  She can anticiapate where things move to and reappear.  She will watch Rhone run and play and she mostly puts up with all of his gimmicks.  She likes to drink water and grab at any real food, but she doesn't really love baby food (who can blame her right).  She will suck on a graham cracker for as long as you will let her.  She is our sweetest little Sylvie girl.  We are so blessed to have her.

The Fair

It has probably been close to a decade since I have been to our little home town fair and rodeo.  I remember working on all my 4-H projects that I entered.  One year I was even the grand champion for my decorated cake.  I was so proud :) (We ate a LOT of cake that summer, I had to make one every week).  The fair sure has gotten smaller, but it was still fun to take the kids and to watch the rodeo- and by watch the rodeo I mean, walk up and down the bleachers a thousand times taking care of one kid or the other.  Olin and Brock came down for it too.  Rhone was pretty excited about their sleep over.  Nana got them new jammies and we let them sleep in the same bed.  When I checked on them, Olin was singing "soft kitty, pretty kitty" from the Big Bang.  We finished the party off with animal pancakes for breakfast.

Rhone has been looking forward to going fishing will Oli since the last time we were in Idaho.  He could not wait!  We loaded all the kids up and headed to Cold Springs Trout Farm in UT.  This is perfect for the little guys to have some success.  Rhone caught a LOT of fish.  He sure will be disappointed when we head to a stream with a fly rod and wait hours to land a fish :)  Olin was a little nervous about the whole ordeal.  He was more for feeding them than catching them.  Rhone caught 8 or so fish before we finally cut him off.  We got them filleted and took them home to fry up.  After fishing we went to one of our favorite pizzeria's from when I was little.  It was really such a fun day.  Thanks Nana and Papa!

Idaho things

We did lots a fun things in Idaho.  Brock was out of school for summer, so we got to play with Olin lots and just enjoy being out side and being with Nana and Papa.  We sure are blessed.  Here's a random selection from a few of our fun adventures.

Solids and Popcorn

Once we were a little settled in Idaho we decided it was time for Miss Sylvie to give some solids a try.  We started out with rice cereal.  She wasn't a huge fan, but she kept some down.  Whew she is changing sooo fast.  Ben got to watch via web cam from Georgia and Rhone photographed the action.  Since then she has tried pumpkin, avacado, bananas and pears.  No of them were a big hit, but she does like yobaby banana yogurt, graham crackers, and water.  

We were feeling patriotic with the Olympics so Rhone and Olin helped us make red and blue popcorn balls.  They were a fun snack while we were watching the games.
